FPP Vianney Cenacles

FPP Vianney Cenacles are groups of men and women who are affiliated with the Foundation of Prayer for Priests and, placing themselves under the intercession of St. John Vianney, the Patron Saint of Priests, come together to pray for priests and vocations. Taking inspiration from the Dicastery for the Clergy's 2012 publication Eucharistic Adoration for the Sanctification of Priests and Spiritual Maternity, the Foundation of Prayer for Priests is proud to introduce both Public and Private FPP Vianney Cenacles in order to magnify the Congregation's worldwide initiative of intercessory prayer for priests, especially through Eucharistic Adoration.

Private FPP Vianney Cenacles

A Private FPP Vianney Cenacle is a gathering of two or more people who come together to pray for priests at a home, parish conference room or other private setting. FPP offers concrete suggestions but encourages all participants in Private FPP Vianney Cenacles to invoke the Holy Spirit and discern together the type of meeting structure that works best for them. May we all follow the inspired words of Pope Francis, who proclaimed:

"The Church, in union with Jesus, raises up to the Father, asking him to renew the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. May each of us, and every group and movement, in the harmony of the Church, cry out to the Father and implore this gift. Today too, as at her origins, the Church, in union with Mary, cries out:"Veni, Sancte Spiritus! Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love!" Amen."

Public FPP Vianney Cenacles

A Public FPP Vianney Cenacle is held in a church or chapel where, with the permission of the pastor, an invitation to pray in a powerful way for priests has been extended to an entire community. Ideally, a priest is present to provide for Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. However, a Public FPP Vianney Cenacle may also be held without a priest present. The format for such a cenacle is provided for by the Dicastery for the Clergy's 2012 publication Eucharistic Adoration for the Sanctification of Priests and Spiritual Maternity.
